Destination: Washington, DC

I opened a blog account back in 2002 but rarely updated it because I was concentrating on my other website, www.coobysnacks.com. Now that I am once again an unemployed graduate student, I’ve got some time to start jotting some of my ramblings down and share them with the world.

Next stop: Washington, DC. After much deliberati0n about what to do with myself, I have decided to leave URI and head back to grad school for my doctorate in higher education administration. It had to happen sometime, and there’s no better time to pursue the next step than now. I’ll be attending George Washington University and will be a poor grad student yet again. This means I’ll be feasting on ramen noodles and hunting for bars with the best happy hours.

I’ll also be sidelining using whatever skill sets I have. So, if anyone knows anyone who needs a website built or a publication done, send ‘em on down my way. I’m cheap, and I produce quality work. I’m also going to attempt and put my physical therapy training to use and try to work as a personal trainer. Yes, you read that right. I’ll update y’all on whether I pull it off or not. Just imagine me in a muscle shirt and short shorts. Brilliant!

Honestly, I’m excited. It’s been a while since I’ve been in school full-time, and it’s something that I know I’ve always wanted to do anyway. And besides, pretty soon you’ll all have to start calling me Dr. Evil. (It’s “doctor.” I didn’t spend six years in evil medical school to be called “mister,” thank you very much.)

To everyone at URI who’s supported me throughout all the ups and downs this past year, a great big THANK YOU. To my friends (and unbeknownst friends-to-be) in DC, watch out. I’m like a volatile chemical reaction when let loose in urban areas. Add to that the fact that I’ll be a student again: GIDDY UP!
