A Brilliant "Once"

Yet another score for the “I love England” column, only this time I’m expanding it to include the Republic of Ireland.

Just saw the critically-acclaimed film Once, a modern-day love story set in Ireland about a singer-songwriter and an immigrant told brilliantly through some pretty powerful songs. The film is deeply affecting, and the soundtrack is equally brilliant. As a songwriter myself (pretending to be a singer on a good day), I was easily swept by the honest, unpretentious way these two individuals’ stories were told through music.

And so my unsolicited endorsement #3 for the week: Go see this movie.

  1. I dont think the Irish would be pleased to know that you put them back under Dominion rule.
