My friend Joe Brack is currently starring in the Constellation Theatre Company’s production of Aeschylus’ The Oresteia (try saying that three times). I went and saw a performance tonight, and holy cow, I was blown away.
I’m no expert in staging Greek tragedies, but the whole production was amazing. The cast is solid, the production values are outstanding, and the direction is pretty mind-blowing. I left the show tonight reminded of why I love smaller theater venues here in the DC area. Beats the pants off the National Theater in a heartbeat.
In the mood for theater that’s worth checking out? Go see The Oresteia at the Clark Street Playhouse in Crystal City (Google map it here). The show runs until June 1.
